The story of
Eliasaph Maze Anderson
Eliasaph Maze Anderson is a writer, model, and creative director from Maryland. While he creates fashionable characters for runway shows and photoshoots in the real world, he self publishes characters just as detailed in his fiction short stories, poems, and screenplays on his blog Writing for Kicks, which garners a following of about 50 readers a month. He is currently working on his first urban fantasy novel and is seeking representation. Maze directs photoshoots and videos on Black history and Black reality. His latest work on the Black Panthers is being presented at the House of Oye.
I am a New Adult fiction writer who focuses on character driven stories in the realms of fantasy, sci-fi, and magical realism. I like to discuss topics such as sex and sexuality, race, relationships, mental health, abuse, identity, emotional growth, and sometimes politics. Being a queer, Afro-Latino writer that grew up in a strict household in the U.S. the search for my own identity was a difficult road that I had to walk mostly alone. I had to battle with my mental health and accept the parts of my childhood I prefer not to look back on. However, through my journey and helping friends and family through their own struggles – and through my collegiate studies in music, history, humanities, and Black politics – I gained experience and knowledge that I would like to share with others who may also have to tread along their journeys of self-discovery without guidance.
